Industrial Air Handling Systems - Fans, Dampers, and Noise Control Solutions

Dampers

Industrial Dampers

Dampers are critical components designed to control, regulate, or completely isolate airflow in a wide variety of HVAC and process ventilation systems. Engineered for durability and precision, these dampers are ideal for a wide variety of industrial applications, including:

  • Precise Airflow Regulation: Maintaining consistent air/gas volumes for balanced system performance.
  • Complete Flow Isolation: Shutting off airflow completely for safety, maintenance, or system efficiency.
  • Combustion Blower Integration: Controlling intake or exhaust in combustion systems.
  • Gas and Particulate Handling: Safely managing light particulate matter and industrial gases.
  • Harsh Environments: Operating reliably in corrosive atmospheres or high-temperature conditions.

Whether you need shut-off control, volume control,  or custom configuration, dampers from our partners are built to meet demanding specifications with industrial-grade reliability.

Types of Industrial Dampers:

Butterfly Dampers

  • Single disc or blade pivots on a central shaft in the duct.
  • Simple, compact and lightweight.
  • Can be used for high-temperature and moderate pressure applications.
  • Applications include power plant stack isolation, boiler/furnace combustion control, industrial ventilation, HVAC and heat recovery systems.

Louver (Multi-Vane) Dampers

  • Multiple opposed or parallel blades mounted across the duct rotating simultaneously.
  • Capacity for large volumes of gas or air.
  • Versatile for isolation and control.
  • High temperatures can be handled with refractory lining.
  • Applications include Dust Collection, power generation, pollution control systems, refineries, stack isolation and waste incineration.

Slide Gate (Guillotine) Dampers

  • Flat blade(s) that slide in and out of the gas stream.
  • Ideal for applications that may require quick and simple manual tuning in the field.
  • Applications include dust collection, combustion airflow control, and  cement/asphalt industries to control dust flow.

Inlet Vane Dampers

  • Direct mounting to the inlet of fan/blower.
  • A series of airfoils (vanes) are positioned at the inlet, rotating to impart a swirl to the incoming air.
  • Rotating blades pre-spin the air entering the fan.
  • These energy efficient dampers are ideal for precise flow and pressure control.
  • Applications include volume control for centrifugal units, HVAC systems for modulated airflow and pressure, or any industrial process requiring precise air control to a fan.

Features and Benefits

  • Robust construction – Heavy-duty materials are used to withstand corrosive gases, high temperatures, abrasion and high pressures.
  • Actuation – Dampers can be manually operated with hand controls or automated with electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic controls, thus making remote operation possible.
  • Custom fabrication – Custom designs can be fabricated for varying types of duct fittings and special operational parameters.
  • Durability – Dampers are engineered for long service life with minimal maintenance, including designs suitable for harsh conditions.
  • Flexibility – Key benefits include adaptation of processes, quick redirection of flows, and rapid response to changes in operations.
